Terms of Service
Last updated: October 3, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Grum’s websites, applications, and related services (the “Services”), including www.grum.so and app.grum.so. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.
1. The Services
Grum provides tools to connect a website, webapp, or GitHub repository, analyze design consistency across styles, components, copy, and animation, and produce shareable reports and markdown exports. Features may change over time as we improve the product.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for safeguarding access methods (including passkeys and GitHub tokens).
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required where you live) to use the Services.
- If you use Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or another identity provider, you must also comply with that provider’s terms.
3. Projects and connected sources
Grum project names and connected repositories are used to organize scans and reports. You may connect GitHub repositories, websites, or webapps to your account, subject to availability and our naming and access rules. We may reclaim, rename, disconnect, or suspend projects that are misleading, infringing, abusive, reserved, or that you are not authorized to connect.
4. Your content
“Customer Content” means repositories and sites you connect, scan results, reports, markdown exports, project settings, share settings, and other materials you submit to the Services.
- You retain ownership of Customer Content.
- You grant Grum a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use Customer Content solely to provide and improve the Services.
- You represent that you have the rights needed to submit Customer Content and to grant the license above.
- Shared reports and related project information may be visible to anyone you share them with, including people who are not signed in if you use a public share link. Private reports remain accessible to you and to anyone you share them with.
- You are responsible for ensuring that connecting a repository or publishing a report complies with your agreements with third-party tools (including GitHub) and your own policies.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate law or third-party rights
- Attempt unauthorized access to the Services or other users’ data
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services
- Upload malware or abuse the Services for spam, scraping at harmful scale, or fraud
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Use the Services to process or publish content you are not permitted to share, or connect repositories you are not authorized to scan
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Services.
6. Third-party services
The Services may integrate with third-party products (for example Google Sign-In, Microsoft sign-in, GitHub, hosting providers, and coding agents). Your use of those products is governed by their terms and privacy policies. Grum is not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
7. Intellectual property
Grum and its licensors own the Services, including software, design, branding, and documentation. These Terms do not grant you any right to use Grum trademarks except as needed to identify your use of the Services in a factual way.
8. Confidentiality
If you receive non-public information about Grum’s product, business, or security, you will use it only as needed to use the Services and will not disclose it except as required by law.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRUM DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CUSTOMER CONTENT WILL BE PERFECTLY PRESERVED. REPORTS AND SCAN RESULTS ARE PROVIDED FOR EVALUATION AND MAY NOT BE SUITABLE TO APPLY TO PRODUCTION WITHOUT YOUR OWN REVIEW.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRUM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS. GRUM’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO GRUM FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).
11. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Grum against claims, damages, and expenses arising from your Customer Content, your use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of these Terms, except where prohibited by applicable law.
